Money Making Journal - MoreNiche Weight Loss Affiliate Program - Entry #2

The current money making test has been going on for almost 48 hours now and holy cow, there's a lot to do! Check out the first entry in this money making journal to get up to speed on the test and affiliate program being used. Basically, I am testing out a niche weight loss affiliate program to see if it lives up to the hype and if I can make any money promoting their products.

So far I don't feel like I've accomplished a whole lot. I did decide that Proactol, one of their two weight loss products, will be the first item I try to promote. With that decided, I poured over website templates in their research center to pick something suitable, then spent over an hour trying to find a domain name that'd work.

The domain name I came up with is HealthyWeightLossPill.com. I know, feel free to smirk - the name seems a bit lame but is the best I could come up with for now. It's tough finding good domains anymore.

I have a couple reasons for picking the name. First, it describes Proactol pretty dang well, so the visitors will know what to expect. Also, it starts with the term "Healthy Weight Loss", which is a highly searched term on Google. And finally, I got tired of searching for domains so I picked one in an attempt to move on to the next steps and keep forward momentum going.

While brainstorming domain names, the computer was busy downloading promotional materials for this weight loss pill I'm about to start selling. I was surprised to find some very helpful info in MoreNiche's resource center and a useful pdf guide geared specifically towards promoting Proactol. To anyone just starting out with affiliate programs and internet marketing, MoreNiche is proving to be a valuable resource of information and support towards making your first sales. Their site seems to have everything you need to start selling, from promotional materials to getting started guides, to nicely designed sights ready to be setup by you. I'm feeling a lot more confident about this program than I was before.

Now on to the next step, the website is currently just a template and needs to be customized to fit my specific ideas. If I leave it as-is and just plug in my affiliate links, not only will Google penalize me for having a crappy, duplicate template site, it's also highly doubtful the site will ever make any money. So I'll need to re-write the titles, articles, reviews, etc. as well as add more content that MoreNiche has provided. The process of making the site unique and custom will take many hours to do, but I think it is important as it will make the site stand out and increase chances of sales.

So that's what I will be doing next - customizing the new affiliate site and making it unique. Once it is ready to start testing, I'll dive into some link building, traffic building, and promotional methods.

Money Making Journal - MoreNiche Casinos, Weightloss, and a Bigger Peepee - Entry #1

As promised, the first entry for the first online money making journal is here. In this journal I'll be testing out a niche affiliate program that I'm excited to try since people seem to make decent money with them and they supposedly have some good tips about online promotion.

The name of the company I am testing is called MoreNiche. They promote 15 different publishers with products ranging from online casinos to weight loss pills to male enhancement doohickys.

Here is the Affiliate Program info:

Program Name: MoreNiche
Program Type: Payout Per Action (Make money with each sale referred to them)
Payout Structure: Up to $175 per sale
Notes: Currently offers a FREE $45 bonus ($15 when you sign up, $10 for posting in their forum, $10 for uploading your referral links, and $10 for generating 100 visitors)

My first impressions give me mixed emotions but we'll see if this pans out as well as people say it does. The big payouts have dollar signs swimming in my eyes but the small amount of programs (15) leaves me feeling like something is lacking. Still, I signed up and browsed their website so the next step is to plan a form of attack and start promoting their products.

Here are the rules for this money making journal / program test:

• I am testing the program for 30 days from today.
• The goals are first to make a sale, any sale, and then to find which promotional methods are most effective while deciding if this is a viable revenue stream.
• I will be posting here with updates on my progress. Look for several updates per week.

That lays out the groundwork so now I just need to decide which program to start with and then get cranking on making money.

I am still not positive where to start but right now I'm leaning towards setting up a review website that promotes one of their products and then I'll promote that site.

Money Making Journals Hit the Lazy Man's Blog

One of the fun things about money making blogs are the money making journals - when you can find an entertaining one that is updated and doesn't fizzle when the author doesn't earn windfall profits right away.

I've decided to start some money making journals here at the lazy man's online money blog since I think they serve several important purposes.

• First, this allows me to test a specific money making idea, method, or program with documented results. It will be pretty easy to tell whether or not my efforts are worthwhile or not.
• Second, everyone reading this will benefit in one way or another. We all learn from doing, but if we aren't doing, the next best thing is studying someone who is. One of the goals of these online money journals is to spark ideas in your head and get you thinking about ways you can make money as well.
• Also, one of the most important reasons for doing online money making journals is motivation, plain and simple. The truth is, we are more motivated to try our hand at making money online when we see someone else who's walking the same path and succeeding.

So whatever the reasons, here's hoping the online money journals are good. I plan on writing about everything from different affiliate programs I find to blogging/website experiments, to tests with advertising. Only time will tell what interesting ideas this will bring.
